While many people look forward to a “return to normal” our energies may be best directed at continuing contemplation and re-examination of our priorities, beliefs, relationships, and engagement with ourselves and others. 2020 has unveiled what’s been insidiously and systematically hidden. This includes the polarities that we have been living in and the imbalances within. It’s also become very clear that many institutions have grown beyond integrity, optimal function, and initial vision. That’s how evolution works.
Metal is the element about letting go and inspiration. With this desire to rebuild – will we gained wisdom to move ahead this year with courageous leadership and collaboration? Have we recognized and taken responsibility for collective shadow frequencies? Are we ready to embrace and transform them? We are at the leading edge of a massive wave of change and awakening.
The highest wisdom is simple and passes through the brain directly into the heart.

According to Human Design cosmology, we are in the last years of the Cross of Planning cycle. This cross provided the background frequency and so impulse for members of tribes to come together to support and take care of each other through institutions. Think, governments, schools, supply chains, factories, infrastructure… We have been in this cycle since early 1600s and time will tell how this evolution unfolds.
However this pans out, the primacy of Human Design information is for us to live as ourselves and honour the uniqueness of everyone. In the next cycle, we have the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix, which is about individuality. This means do not expect institutions such as the government – or anyone else – to take care of us. That responsibility lies with ourselves. As we do this, we are able to collaborate, create, and love in new and beautiful ways.

This makes knowing yourself and living from your inner authority, while honouring all life and life force, key.

This is a year where personal responsibility is important, so stepping up to embrace this ideal behavior by admitting mistakes and apologizing will pay off. Those who skirt and evade responsibility for their bad behavior will see a loss in status, popularity and respect. This will unfortunately lead to some public shaming and censure. It is recommended that those in power refrain from blatant and overt political power plays, as they could easily backfire. There is a very strong need for some kind of homeostasis and balance of power politically and culturally. Those who promote these ideals will be revered and appreciated.
