Wrapping Up 2019 – Here’s What to let Go of

We are wrapping up 2019 and the decade in just a few weeks. The big question is – are we ready? What can we let go of to propel us more joyously and more ready into the next decade and beyond?

For the past several years, I’ve been re-accessing my beliefs and the whole concept of spirituality, purpose, and, well, life. Big stuff, I know. And I know many of you have been, as well. This idea that hard work = worth and value or that growth only comes through pain has never quite sat well with me. The linearity of how if I do this, I’ll achieve this or life goes from A to B to C. The endpoint invariably is being understood, loved, and accepted, even if we are unaware. How we get there, that’s the interesting part. And in wrapping up 2019, I’m also wrapping up old beliefs, about this journey, and releasing cords and old ideas.

The Square Hole and Round Peg

The other day a friend commented on a FB post that “what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger” – a cliché we are all very familiar with. For me, I’m not so keen on it. Because what doesn’t kill us physically can wither us inside, sucking out the juiciness of who we are and further disconnecting us from who we are. Or it can enrage us, ricocheting us into a direction diametrically opposite where we wish to go. To prove a point, to prove someone wrong. To exact revenge on an uncaring world.

It doesn’t always make us stronger. And what is stronger? Mostly we know stronger as thicker-skinned, able to push through, not knocked down… yet sometimes we need to fall apart, so we can see through the illusion to rise up true.

Honestly, if the system is broken, we should not bend and contort to fit in. Or tough it through and be traumatized and feel victimized. As we know, unhealed or not transcended, trauma continues down the line, through our own lineage, reverberating on societal and planetary levels. It’s time to remember we are here for a purpose, at this very special time, to buck off outdated ways of being that celebrate specific groups of people. Be brave and be who you came to be, wherever you came from. Like flowers, we bloom, not in competition, in collaboration to express the essential beauty of all that is.

Wrapping up 2019

Looking at my own astrological chart, I can see why these years I’m looking at my beliefs and patterns and questioning everything. These old paradigm and 3D ideas. Are they valid now that we are shifting into a quantum age, where we can more easily connect with the possibilities that exist in the zero field? It’s been said for probably a decade that there is no more karma and even the pre-incarnation spiritual contracts we made can be re-written. What if what we’ve been taught is now outdated, or even wrong?

For me wrapping up 2019 includes finishing what needs to be finished, truly ending what has already ended, and discarding ideas that don’t feel true north to me. It’s about being more discerning and aligned.

As some of you know, I’ve worked with and have recommended astrologer DK Brainard. His latest podcast, episode #54, How Doing What You Love Saves the World, speaks about what I’ve been thinking about and talking with other people. So I’m sharing it here with you. Plus an original song to boot, about the Great Central Sun.

This is the time of tension between dying and birth
The place of solitude where three dreams cross
Between blue rocks
But when the voices shaken from the yew-tree drift away
Let the other yew be shaken and reply.
Blessed sister, holy mother, spirit of the foundation, spirit of the garden,
Suffer us not to mock ourselves with falsehood
Teach us to care and not to care
Teach us to sit still
Even among these rocks,
Sister, mother
And spirit of the river, spirit of the sea,
Suffer me not to be separated
– TS Eliot
