Potatoes & Carrots For Good Health

Potatoes are so great for our health! With the colder weather, our diet also changes. It’s potatoes and carrots time! And other root veggies. Think, stewed and slow cooked meals.

If you are a fan of the Medical Medium, you’d know that potatoes are a top food! According to his blog article on potatoes, they are “an important food for those who are heavy thinkers and those recovering from stress damage and adrenal exhaustion. They are also particularly beneficial for depression, insomnia, sleep disorders, brain fog, and stress-related illnesses. Potatoes are also known to be good for promoting cardiovascular health and are highly beneficial for reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis, and COPD.”

Supporting those with adrenal exhaustion, potatoes are also a good winter food as the adrenals are related to the kidneys, whose organ energy is the most sensitive during this season.

Potatoes are antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, and more. Go for organic and steamed. Old fashioned, simple, nutriious…and delicious. Do you always butter them up? Try avocado or other non-dairy options. The fat in the dairy diminishes the health benefits of potatoes, according to the Medical Medium. If you have a cold sore, rub raw potato on it! Or take L-Lysine, which according to the Medical Medium acts against the Herpes Simplex virus (which causes cold sores) and other herpetic viruses.

Did you know that potatoes can help absorb non-beneficial EMF? This article suggests placing a potato in your home, discarding it after a week. Don’t eat it! Give it a go, and let us know if this works for you.

Using unglazed clay cooking pots is an old and traditional way of cooking. Slow cookers are so fantastic for healthy multi-tasking – cooking and doing whatever else you want to! (Mine is on right now, with potatoes and carrots from the farmers’ market as I write this.) Check out the recipes from the VitaClay Chef.
