Wolfgang Jaksch:The Man Bringing PEMF Technology to Your Home

Wolfgang Jaksch, founder and CEO of Swiss Bionic Solutions, speaks about how his recovery from cancer led him to the amazing life that he leads. He is also the man bringing PEMF technology to your home.

Being a professional athlete with a mentality of determination, pursuing and accomplishing what he felt driven toward was never a question. Thanks to his motivation to get healthy, we now have the Intelligence Magnetic Resonance System (iMRS) built on PEMF technology, for home use for everyone.

Q

Energy Medicine is nothing new in Germany and there are many types of machines and modalities. Why do something different?

A

The decision to do this was based on an illness I had 20 years ago. I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Pretty late stage so it was serious. I went through the whole medical practices – surgery and chemotherapy. With all the toxins from the chemotherapy and from the anaesthesia, I lost a lot of weight over a short period of time. 80, 85 pounds. I was a hockey player so it hit me really hard.

Q

What did you do for your recovery?

A

I think the most important thing as a cancer patient is to believe you will become healthy. You have to stay positive. You can often see this with people with the same diagnosis and one person doesn’t make it or the other person becomes totally healthy. If you look at the reason, it’s mostly the way people look at life.

That’s why for me, it was neither just the surgery nor the chemotherapy or the PEMF (Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field Therapy) that helped me. It was everything and a big part was also my positive outlook on life.

I remember when the doctor told me my diagnosis as if it were yesterday. It was, maximum, two minutes where I was really down and then I turned it around. I stood up and said I take the challenge. What do I have to do? That’s what I said to the doctor.

My mom and I have a very close relationship. She actually suffered much more from my cancer than I did. When my mom first came to the hospital and saw me, she didn’t recognize me because I looked so different. I had lost so much weight.

Seeing her suffer, on the one hand, was bad but it was very motivating and encouraging to get healthy and to see her in a better mood again.

I remember after I left the hospital they wanted to send me for rehabilitation. I refused it because I wanted to go home to my family. That was my rehabilitation. If I went to an organized one, I would be surrounded by sick people and I didn’t want that. I went home and of course I had a great time. For my rehabilitation and regeneration, I looked into alternative and complementary medicine.

Q

Why alternative?

A

I was born and raised in Bavaria, Germany, close to the Alps, in a nice village with 700 people. I was surrounded by nature so I was educated to live with nature and enjoy it. For me it was never in my thought that I would stay on medication my whole life. It was not my philosophy or lifestyle.

I was interested in what I could do. The other thing is, when you are a cancer survivor, you want to stay positive. You also want to become proactive. That’s very important. Proactive means you have to find something you can do yourself.

At that time, the first PEMF machine appeared on the market. Austria was where it started. The whole PEMF technology goes back to mainly the eastern part of Europe, like Russia and the Baltic States, and Germany of course.

There was a lot of research done on how PEMF can effect the human organism. The first findings were that people slept better, when you exposed them to such a field. A professor from the Technical University of Munich started researching with it and the first unit was actually set up for people with insomnia. It showed very good results.

Q

By that time, was the PEMF technology only for clinical use?

A

When I was looking, the units were already for home use. I was invited to a lecture and what I heard was impressive. The functionality fit my philosophy and I bought one. After only four weeks, I had really good results. I got my energy back. I could sleep much better.

Q

Did you do anything else in recovery?

A

I changed my diet. I was always eating healthy anyway so I focused on how to get the toxins out faster. Lots of vitamins, with a high biological availability. Lots of water. I could not do that much more since I already had quite a healthy diet. I was in sports so I was very well educated on that and I lived in a village with really good organic food.

Q

Do you still live in a village?

A

I still live in a really nice area. I now live on Lake Zurich in Switzerland. I live in a very quiet and organic environment. This is just part of my life philosophy.

Q

What did you think of the PEMF technology at that time?

A

I felt the machine had a remarkable impact. I was intrigued by it and I started collecting information about it. I had no clue at that time what it was. I started buying books because at that time our friend Google did not exist. I visited conferences about energy medicine. About a year later, I looked at this machine and thought maybe I could make it even better.

Q

What did you want to improve on?

A

The design! It was horrible. [He laughs heartily] Yeah, it looked bad and cheap but it was expensive. It was very user-friendly because you only had the ability to choose between intensity 1 to 10. I think it was about 4,000 SGD. 21 years ago, that’s quite expensive. I am an aesthetic person. For me personally, I expected something more nice-looking and more advanced features. It was a very cheap-looking product. But it worked, you know.

Q

When did you launch your first product?

A

1996. 18 years ago.

You know, I had no clue about manufacturing and these engineers spoke to me in a language I didn’t understand at the time. I learned from a lot of people.

The problem was that there was so much knowledge from different sections. The challenge was to get all this information together and put it in place. Knowing how to put it all together is something I can do so it was then just finding the engineers and manufacturing plant. The practical stuff.

Like I said, if you are driven by a deep motivation, you will always be able to do it because you don’t stop until you do. Mostly in life, when you have a real good plan, you go for it, and you find the right people. And that’s what happened. I just found the right people. I just told them what I wanted.

We are now in the 6th generation for this product. It is still manufactured in Germany and Switzerland. We have about 1.5 million users. In 2006, I went to North America. Actually I opened the North American market out of Canada, in Oakville, where we still have our office. From there, we expanded to the west. First we went to Denver, Colorado. I decided it was too cold for me so from there we went to Florida.

Q

Was it a home-use system?

A

Both. It’s not so much that practitioners cannot use it. It’s just that you benefit from it if you use it consistently. Maybe two or three times a day, for eight minutes each time. Then you can have quick benefits.

Q

So when you are not well?

A

If you are not well. But even if you are well, to maintain. At least in the morning and then in the evening.

Q

Have you brought it into medical clinics?

A

Yes, of course. They are medically-certified devices. We recently achieved Health Canada Certificate level 2. A lot of hospitals and medical practices are using this.

Q

Do you find the Europeans are more open to complementary medicine?

A

It’s interesting. In North America, they always say they are so open in Europe. The Europeans say they are so open in North America. And the Asians say we must go to Europe. And the Europeans say you have to go to Asia because of the Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Wherever there is a person who is able to think a little outside the box, then you have a person to talk to, and someone eager to try it. Usually when you try this technology, you will get the results and when you see the results, you will create more and more interest.

Q

How are the results achieved?

A

Cells are able to respond in two ways – chemically and energetically. Mainly it is the chemical way that is researched and has taken over as the classical medical field.

We look at it from the energetic approach. Our belief is that there is no chemistry without energy so energy is the more fundamental trigger.

What we do is attract, not the cell directly, but the ions around the cell with a magnetic field so they move. This leads to the membrane potential to increase, which leads to a better absorption of nutrients and minerals and so a better production of ATP (Adenosine Try Phosphate). The bottom line is if you do this with each of your 72 trillion cells you create a totally different environment. For a healthy body to maintain itself and an ill body to regain health.

Q

What makes our cell membrane potential decrease or increase?

A

On one hand, the environment. The biggest problem right now is invisible. We are more and more exposed to artificial frequencies, caused by cell phones, GPS, satellite systems, computers. Manmade frequencies based on electricity create a lot of problems.

On the other hand, the food sources. Besides the fact that tomato doesn’t taste like a tomato anymore, there are no vitamins, no minerals inside anymore.

We are running a lot of deficiencies and that is a problem.

By correcting some of these deficiencies on an energetic level, we are able to restore the body so it can help itself again.

Q

Coming from the “clean” airwaves of your home to Singapore, have you found you had to use the machine more?

A

I always use the system anyway. What I feel here is that I feel more drained in the evening. Life’s more hectic here. People have a higher stress base level. You can really feel that, everywhere. I also feel people don’t have such a good mood during the day. [He laughs] Maybe it is connected to the fact that they are stressed and they are more pressured and of course they are more surrounded by this artificial stuff. Everything is concentrated. That creates a huge problem. You can see this in New York. You can see this in Hong Kong.

The character of the people is going the same direction and it’s not related to culture. It’s related to their environment. If you have an artificial environment, yes, you become a little artificial, too.

Q

Do you think people, now that generations have been in this artificial environment, even recognize that this is not normal?

A

I think in general the younger people, from using these gadgets from day one, on the one hand, may not realize it causes a lot of problems but on the other hand, there is a movement of younger people who are becoming more health-conscious. I definitely see that. Also, being more cautious like not using their cell phones in universities or schools because they receive education that the extensive use of these electrical devices – smartphone, tablet, laptop – can lead to serious issues.

Q

Where do you see that?

A

Canada is a forerunner in this. There are even schools that prohibit wifi during certain hours in order to keep the concentration levels higher for students. It’s pretty cool. Canada is doing a lot in this area. They are also investing in research. In the US – I always talk about the health-conscious states, in California they are really into that. In Europe it’s not such a big thing but maybe in general there is a better sense of responsibility to begin with. Maybe that is the difference. In Asia, I think people have not been exposed to this education so much. People think because they don’t feel anything what could be wrong?

Q

What do you suggest?

A

Protect yourself. Have a technology to protect or regain your own energy level. Also be responsible using your mobile phone. Go on flight mode during the night. Don’t leave your smartphone on the nightstand. It has a huge impact on your sleep. The problem with all this technology is it became a lifestyle and big business. The industry also realizes a lot of health problems are related to this.

As studies are coming out and more governments are concerned about the health of their citizens, it’s going to change a bit. There will be more education. Of course we cannot all just throw away the technology because it is already a lifestyle. We must find the path where we can still use it, be alerted to what could be wrong if we use it extensively, and what you could do about it.

Q

You talk about the organ clock on your website. How does it relate to your product?

A

The organ clock is built in. It addresses the proper frequencies of the body at specific times. There is a lot of research about healthy organ frequencies. For example when you go on the machine in the morning, you will get the frequency package for the organs active at that time. We use these frequencies to stimulate the ionic movement in the cells. Like organs, the cells also have their own clock. Cells make tissues and tissues make organs. You are just breaking it down to the building block. That’s why it is really good to use it at least two times a day.

Q

How is eight minutes enough?

A

The body doesn’t really need more time to resonate with these frequencies. We know that the resonant effect lasts from four to six hours. So if you want to do it “perfectly” you should do it every six hours. If you do it twice a day, it’s already very good.

Q

Because your technology can re-energize people and make them healthier in general.

A

Yes and people feel it. If people can feel the unhealthy electromagnetic field, they can also feel the “good” one.

Q

What are some impressive results you have seen? You mentioned insomnia.

A

It is well-accepted for any kinds of pain management. You get immediate blood flow. Higher release of endorphins. This is a huge thing – you know, so many people suffer from pain and they need to take pain medication. So this is not medication and without side effects.

Q

What do you suggest for pain relief?

A

Eight minutes on the whole body mat to get the whole system going and then after that, do the pillow applicator right where it is hurting and choose the time and intensity depending on where the pain is and how bad it is. This is a medical device but we do not suggest stopping your pain medication. You may reduce it when you feel you have less pain. Of course if it is possible to be pain-free without medication, everyone should do it.

Q

This is your latest product.

A

Yes. This was launched in Europe late 2014. And also North America. And now Singapore. We wanted to come since in our research we found the PEMF technology topic is not even talked about here in Asia.

Q

It is a medically-certified product.

A

It’s past safety regulations. Safe for kids to use. Animals are perfect for this – they don’t suffer from the placebo effect. We tested it with cats and dogs and of course, where I come from, there are a lot of cows. The cows love it. The horses love it. The elephants love it. I got a video with camels. The animals really love it and that’s pretty cool.

Q

Do you have an animal story?

A

There is this very nervous and very tense racehorse from Toronto and we did a trial with this horse. After two minutes, the horse immediately calmed down and after eight minutes, he fell asleep. We can really see the animals relaxing. If you turn it on, the dog would jump on it and would lie on it. [editor’s note: my two dogs did just that]

Q

So this technology really benefits everyone.

A

Yes, because this technology is not about a specific disease but creates a very fundamental effect on your metabolism. A really powerful technology to make you feel better and to protect you from the dramatic changes in our environment.

Q

What makes your product better than others out there? Besides that it looks good.

A

Yes, it looks very good. [He laughs] We are very focused on developing the product further and further. This is the sixth generation so not only are we always looking out for health trends but we look to develop the best technical product. We are probably really the only company in this field that has kept on researching and developing.

Q

What programs come with the product?

A

There are five fast-start programs and with one button they can do the relaxation, performance training before sports, sleeping. The pillow applicator is good for local pain. It can be controlled for the duration and the intensity of the applied field. These are always used separately because their signal structures are different and would interfere the other one.

Q

What have you improved on since the last generation?

A

Mostly the usability because we think this product should be in every home. Looking at the user profile, I would say it is for someone between 45 and 75. So we need to make sure the product can be handled easily by the user. We put a lot of thought on how to do this and I think it’s pretty good. After five minutes people would know what to do. It’s very simple so this aspect has been improved. And of course the materials. Durability. With regards to frequencies, we didn’t do so much but we did add a brainwave entrainment system. It’s an add-on with the goggles. You can do both at the same time.

The Omnium 1 system is not only capable of PEMF.  We are expanding the product range. For the next generation we will add a blood pressure meter and a blood glucose meter.

We are already thinking making a few years down the line to allow people to perform their own ECG. The system is actually already capable of doing this.

Q

And the maintenance?

A

Maintenance-free. The average life-span of the applicators is about 15 years. Don’t drive the car over it! But no parts inside need maintenance.

Q

I have to say your story is very inspiring and you give off such positive energy.

A

I was always a happy person. Now I’m even more relaxed and I don’t take things so seriously anymore. I don’t get stressed about everything and everyone anymore. I know there are more profound things in life. It’s all good. Looking back, this cancer was the greatest gift in my life.
